★ Hancom Hangul (Korean Word Processor)
The HWP format is a paid word processing program still used by many writers, including government offices. However, its biggest drawback is that it's not simple, with numerous features beyond tables and images. Recently, an online service has also been launched. You can store documents in the basic cloud, and edit or view Hangul documents for free.

★ Scrivener
The most popular and widely used paid writing program among writers. It seems particularly useful for writing and moving text in chapter units or creating outlines. It's a bit pricey. As of September 1, 2023, the Standard Licence for Windows and iOS is ₩88,000. The Educational Licence is ₩74,800. Even with a scrivener discount coupon, it's a considerable expense. A 1-month free trial is available, so try it out and consider a purchase if you find it suitable. Recently,Scrivener for Dummies(스크리브너 무작정 따라하기) has also been published in Korean, so you might find it helpful to refer to that as well.

★ Dark Room (Writing Editor)
Allows full-screen writing. It's optimized for English, so Korean support is a bit unstable. When you run it, you can write with a black background and fluorescent green font. It might be good for coders, but it certainly helps create focus, and right-clicking allows you to access the settings. Updates seem to have stopped... But why recommend it? Because it's pretty.
★ FocusWriter (Writing Editor)
Similar to Dark Room, but with a gray background. Hovering the cursor over the top reveals a menu with various customization options. It has a timer + alarm feature and daily target setting, but it's based on English typing, so it might not be very useful.
★ Typora (Writing Editor)
Simple and free, so worth trying out. As of September 1, 2023, it has become paid and is offered for $14.99 (excluding tax) with a 15-day free trial. It supports macOS, Windows, and Linux.
★ Evernote (Reference Material DB Building)
Evernote offers app, web, and PC programs. It's partially free with storage limitations. You can pay for additional storage or devices. Similar programs include Notion and Obsidian.

★ PicPick (Screen Capture)
Useful for when text copying is blocked, or when visual context is needed, or for information requiring layout. Capture the screen with PicPick, save it to Evernote, and organize your thoughts briefly. This is a good way to classify information into a separate scrap folder. It's free for everyone, including businesses, organizations, and individuals. After installation, a fixed icon appears in the bottom right. When you need to capture, right-click and select Screen Capture Mode > desired mode. A window opens immediately for capture. Simple edits are possible without opening Paint, and there are absolutely no annoying ads.
